As a child my father would tell me about my cuban heritage. He would tell me about my families history and a story concerning my great great great grandfather and my grandmother Maria Dupree. The story as I recall centered around a dinner table.

The senal de espania and other spanish dignataries and my grandfather and some cuban dignataries, were having dinner, after the meal was finished. The senal de espania ordered the cook to come into the dinning area. The cook entered with the heads of 6 cats on a tray.

The spaniards began to laugh in unison because the cuban dignataries believed they were eating rabbit or something. My grandfather as a result of this humiliation stood up and shot the senal de espania. I would like to research this story and my family.
