Diamond In The Rough

Perspective

I remember I was in the sixth grade when I first saw "Carmen Jones", and I was mesmerized by the beauty of this chrismatic woman, whose name I later learned was Dorothy Dandridge. I said then that she was my favorite actress. Even as a twelve year old girl, I knew that she was someone special. I later found her other works to be just as fulfilling as "Carmen Jones", and now, at 21 years old, she still means everything to me that she meant to me nine years ago.
