I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956. I was sationed in Germany and France. I had three (3) years time and grade [seniority] for Airman 1st Class. White Airman, same classification, same amount of education and performance apprisals were being promoted over me.

I wrote Congressman Adam Clayton Powell and he began an investigation of the entire European Theater for racism. Did he find it? Of course he did and done something about it. I ultimately got my promotions and so did other blacks.
