Freedom's Price

Perspective
Andrew Young

To be a part of a movement that would forever change the status of a people is history making. Andrew Young is no stranger to making history. Young was born into "service". From his family he learned that there were always people in need and if you could help them, you helped. This foundation would carry him to many heights. He mastered the art of mediator and later became an ambassador. The skills he learned growing up in New Orleans groomed him for greatness.

When I started to research Young, I thought I knew him however as I researched, I found how little I really knew. I found a man with very deep convictions. I found a man who practiced his reading by reading the bible to his "Gran" at a young age. A man who loved his Uncle Johnny, who some say was a good "for nothing". Someone who loved red beans and rice. I found a caring and understanding person. I also found a man that carried himself with great dignity and pride, a role model and leader for other young men to take note of.

Andrew Young is a great American of African decent. His love of God and country has been a inspiration for many people over many years. Young was a young man when he marched at Martin Luther King, Jr's side. He was with King when he was killed in Memphis.

Young is now a senior stateman and continues the fight for freedom and equality for all men. He is a "world citizen" and has sat down with many world leaders representing the United States of America. Young has come a "mighty long way".
