I have been drawn to the tragic tale of "Lady Day" since I was old enough to talk. My Mom at that time was an avid fan , as she had a lot of things going on at that time, I guess she could relate to the emotions coming from the speakers of the "Hifi" in the living room.

I grew up reading the stories from Lady Day's life but only recently have I allowed myself to truly listen, to appreciate the talent of this extraordinary stylist.
