I sing and enjoy acting, but I have never in my life heard about Dorthy Dandridge. Until, the HBO movie "The Introduction of Dorothy Dandridge". And, I blame school's for that. It is important for African American children to know about their Fore-fathers/mothers. All the people who have Laid out the "Red Carpet", for us to be able to walk down it with pride.
Dorthy Dandridge was a beautiful black woman, that believed in her dreams. She was talented and she wanted the best for her fellow black people. She showed much pride, and she has given me strength as a young black female growing up, to do my very best in all that I do.
Remember that we weren't always free, or had equal rights. By us not doing that and striving to do our best. We are letting those people down, that worked for our Equality as human beings.
