"I'm Tired"

Perspective

Rosa Parks was a black woman who rode the bus home from work each day. On December 1, 1955, she was tired, and decided to sit in the "white people" section of the bus. When the bus driver told her to move for a white man, she refused. "I'm tired," she said. So the driver called the police. And she said, that she shouldn't have to stand.

So they arrested her, and she went to the Montgomery Courthouse to plea her case. This started the Montgomery Bus boycott, where all black people would not ride the public buses. Rosa's case reached all the way up to the Supreme Court, where the justices ruled segregating the buses unconstitutional.

Parks, and all other black people now got to sit in the front of the bus for the first time. She lost her job, but she earned own more step to equal rights and freedom.
