I have been researching the history of two camelots, that of King Arthur and that of President Kennedy. In my internet search for facts I have come across titles exclaiming "Camelot died 35 years ago" and this angers me.
I would like to believe that it never died and therefore surpasses the Camelot of King Arthur. My proof of this is quite evident, just look at the incredible following of the late, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, and of JFK, Jr.
Camelot has never died for the american public. It merely went into a dormancy, possibly at Avalon as did King Arthur. But it is beginning to come back to life and maybe someday we will make a complete return to what we all became so endeared with and have come to know as our own personal Camelot.
