"When pain, betrayal, judgement, or adversity comes--I live that too. I can face it straight up and know that it, too, shall pass--every moment
does."
-Oprah Winfrey, 1996
from A Journal of Daily Renewal
This particular thought was written two years before the infamous trial of her life, an unwarranted attack on what "Tell-it-like-is Phil" McGraw calls "America's Sweetheart". Oprah not only passed her test, she cried "I will not be muzzled" and taped two shows a day deep in the heart of Texas, all while raising money for college funds and homes, and lifting the status of literacy.
Oprah is a phenomenon that occurs once in every lifetime. She is truly an exemplary citizen whose shining example, generosity, and undaunted spirit of triumph encourages us all to "Make the Connection."
