What did Dr. Betty Shabazz mean to me? She was strength and pride for me. Her life made me believe that there were still heroes out there that believed in me, even without the knowledge of my existance.
Dr. Shabazz struggled like us all but she never let the death of Mr. Shabazz be something that limited her life. She went out and got a job to support her children. No government hand-outs for her. She lived her life so that children like me could see we had a hero in her. < /p>
Our Black Princess died and is now with her Prince. Who will be our heores now? Who will we, the Black Nation of Children, look to for strength? We will look to you, Dr. Shabazz because even in your absence, you still bring about a ray of hope for the future and a love for your Black Nation that cannot be matched. Thank you Dr. Shabazz for being an example for me and a nation of Black sisters.
